Who are Spectre Analysis?

Hi and thank you for viewing our blog. Spectre Analysis are a private, non-profit making, Paranormal Research group based in Crewe and Nantwich are, Cheshire. It's founders were previously part of a similar group for over two and half years and have a large portfolio of investigations to date. Our team are mature, and professional individuals who take our 'hobby' (as some would call it) seriously and responsibly.

WHAT DO WE DO?

"The most important tools in this or any investigation are a questioning mind and a solid understanding of scientific principles."

Benjamin Radford

Our main focus is to approach the field of the paranormal from a scientific and evidence based approach, studying and collecting accurate evidence that will help us form theories that may explain paranormal sites. Were not all quantum physicists but we try to understand as much to our ability the scientific aspects of our work.

A large majority of investigations are done on the assumption that sites are 'home to' ghosts and spirits. For instance some popular assumption are:

> Mediums CAN contact the dead?.
> Calling out... can ghosts hear and react to verbal request?
> Orbs are ghosts?
> Former residents are responisble for hauntings?
> Graveyards and cemetaries are full of ghosts?
> You can see ghosts better in the dark?

These could be true but there is not suffient evidence to support them. This could also lead to the possibility of suggestion.

WHAT WE DONT DO?
We are not "Ghost Hunters" and we do not 'banish' or 'exorcise' alleged 'ghosts' or 'spirits'.

OUR OBJECTIVES?
1. To collect verifiable evidence to support the theory that the human soul survives after death.

2. Help clients (and ourselves) to form a clearer understanding of what may be causing unexplained phenomena.

3. Continualy strive to keep an open mind and a skeptical approach to our work.

WHERE DO WE INVESTIGATE?
As you can see, a lot of our investigations have taken place in Pubs. These places have been a communial meeting places for hundreds of years, and hold a vast amount of history and memories attached to them. But generaly we will investigate most any loction in an around the Cheshire area and also further.

Maybe you think that your home or business is haunted and you would consider a private investigation taylored to your personal requirements? I can assure you that all information will be kept private and that our team conducts itself in a highly professional manner. Please do not hessitate to contact us for an informal chat.

(NOTE:References can be supplied, on request)

We post reports on ALL our unvestigations, please use the link in the RH column to view them. We only post the results of a private residence investigation with the property owner's permission.

COLLABORATIONS
We are aslo interested in working with other like minded people and groups. If you are a medium or a sensitive we would also like to work with you, but please note we will doing so as an assessement of your ability and we will be looking for tangible evidence which can be checked through historical records and research methods.

HOW DO WE FUND OUR RESEARCH?
All of our equipment is privately owned and funded individualy by each team member, travel and misc expenses are shared equally beween the team.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO WE USE?
We have a good selection of equipment some of which include:

EMF meter's, IR video cameras, IR Handycams, IR Lights, Motion Detectors, IR temperature sensors, TV monitors, Digital still cameras, Stud meter, Light sensors, Digital voice recorders, Dowsing rods, Lap tops, Re-chargable battery packs, Oh and of course there's TED.

DO WE CHARGE FOR OUR SERVICES?
In a nut shell...NO we don't.

Most haunted Live Eight faces of Evil

EIGHT FACES OF EVIL It amazes me all the MHL events have menacing titles, Village of the Dammed, 8 Faces of Evil, are there no nice ghosts out there? I think it should be titled "Where's Jake?"

This time its staged at Morecombe Winter Gardens a well publicised haunted location (as you know SA have been there). I was scratching my head wondering how the heck they are going to span out 8 days in Morecombe? It is not a hive of activity even in the summer months. So I was interested what venues they can dig up to investigate.

Well what can I say the little loves went off on their paranormal adlib-ventures once again. They have pulled out all the technical stops this time (or shall say KO has) and whose that porky fella they have dug up...Oh yes Mr 'Phil Whyman. Another medium graces the stage 'Chris' seemed a nice enuff fella. And the wonderful Juilen Clegg, who I have to say is an excellent presenter, but I do which he would get shirts that were the right size!!! They have not failed us with the usual hype to wined up the audience. The music, the lights but no action. That fab Ouija board they have constructed but know one wants to talk to them.

Now the WG'ns is a very draft place, and noises leek in from external sources very easily. You cannot pinpoint where sounds are emanating from due to the auditory design of the theatre..any theatre in fact. They are designed specifically so people can hear the performers clearly from the stage in any seated position in the theater.

So nights 1 and 2 - Not much to write home about here. Lots of cold spots...well come on guys its freeeeezing in there. A very nasty spirit man...who (sadly) does nothing nasty to them, what a party pooper. Most of the info Chris was coming up with had been previously aired in another programme.

So on a Fright factor of 1-10, 0.

Night 3 was a little more interesting as they re-located to the Alhambra Antiques Emporium. What great a place that was, and they left poor Kath on her own in there for a 'screaming' vigil while EF muscled her way around the building. Abbott and Costello... oops sorry, Carly and Co got up to there usual tricks (unconvincingly). I do like the old reel to Reel tape recorder experiment as its very hard to tamper with the audio and KO explained for the first time 'Infra Sound' and how it works. An interesting thing he did was slow down the audio from a recording done that night to find it had a similar sound to that Chris was hearing... interesting. Unfortunately there was no ghost karaoke that evening although EF, after listening very closely to the tape, did try her best to make out there was something on it. Will be interesting to see what they get tonight after leaving it running.

Fright factor of 1-10, 1.

Night 4 + 5 Ashton Hall and the jUdges Lodgings. It's menacing it's malevolent. Once more the nation is gripped by its nuptials and has it's eyes peeled on the 8 web-cams. The spirit of Laurence was with us this evening and the seance revealed the dreaded figure of 8, a sign that indicates a very negative, powerfull force of evil... as most of us who have taken physics is some form or another, know this sign as infinity BUT every time its referred to in this programme it's EVIL... just another con to get people to feel insecure.

We had prank phone calls, my god someone infiltrated the sealed system well done I say. Now EF was sent off on her own.. I timed how long she would last before the proverbial dummy was thrown down... exactly 4 mins... my word that was a brave effort. Chris isn't proving to be a very good guest medium he doesn't seem to bringing much in from the spirit realm. KO caught something on the phone moaning and groaning.... it's a fix. Now he did a very interesting Infra Sound experiment where he recorded 6 word as a frequency which could not be heard by the human ear, the idea was that the said ghost(s) could here this whilst the usual members were doing a Ouija board. Now the results were spectacular... the ghost got 5 out of 5 (gold star for the spook) but personally I feel this was too good to be true. Is KO starting on the slippery slope of 'fixing things' I hope I'm wrong.

Fright Factor 0

Night 6 The Mariners Pub and the Ashton monument. The place of death and hanging. Tonight the witches prey was Kath, they knew there were witches as they could smell wet dogs (yeah I always think that don't you?) Kath was smothered by them Chris was toppled over by them but otherwise nothing else happened AND THEN the best experiment yet, old Tesser's back with his mates the Faraday's. 3 victims will be put into human shaped iron cases and they will 'willingly' share 3250 Volts...yeah baby. I couldn't wait for this one to spark off. The people were chosen by yet again the ghosts... they were KO, CB and the sound man. Now KO was clearly disturbed at the fact that he could possible turned into a kebab... I screaaaaaaaaamed switch it on. The tensions rise, the guys kissed there loved one goodbye (OK CB did) but it was so funny when EF replied to her husband 'Yes I love you, now get in' ... a classic lol. Of course nothing happened and I fell asleep through the rest of it.

Fear Factor 3

Night 7 The Maritime Museum and the 16c Snatcher Pub - "We may be going back to basic tonight" said EF on the approach to tonights investigation. Does this mean they have run out of ideas? The locations centred around buildings that were involved with the Slave trade and the usual activity of the time press ganging men into the Navy. Paul guaranteed us that tonight would be 'dangerous and fruitful' mmm I smelt a rat here. Not much happened at the Museum so Carl said heroically "Lets kick some ass at the next gaff" you tell em Carl, so they all legged it to the pub (best place in my opinion), ...well all hell broke loose, Carl went all funny then the sound man collapsed, Kath was threatening the spirits to leave her alone, the paramedics were called and guess who was responsible for all this mayhem...you guessed it 'The Pendle Witches' there back, wreaking havoc. Their broomsticks must be rocket powered as Pendle Hill is miles away from Lancaster... well that's the advancement in broomstick technology these days. Funny what Paul's said at the beginning of the evening wasn't it?

So brace yourselves for the penultimate evening... its very nearly a full moon, keep watching those witches ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Most Haunted Live - Search for Evi, Nights 1 - 4

Well here we go again, batten down the hatches for another 7 nights of Most Haunted Live .We are being promised a show that over 6 nights will conjure up 6 types of ghosts ending, on the 7th night with the ultimate entity (mmm I wonder who THAT could be?). I shall as usual be making my beguiled comments on the individual nightly events. Will they finally find the 'Evil' they have been searching for for soooooooooo long? Will Brain Shepard actually come up with something concrete? Will Torvell and Beattie perform a rendition of Spooky accompanied by the ever lovely Screaming Banshees (now there's and idea)? Who knows? I really Hope Billy's back on the books again.

NIGHT 1 -IN SEARCH OF THE POLTERGEIST - St George's Hall, Liverpool

The first of the 7 nights in search of 7 types of ghost, tonight's was in search of the Poltergeist.
Good to see Billy was back on board as the visiting medium and was finally given a lengthy part towards the end of the show, in fact hes really taking the shine of Brian's credibility (if he has any). Brian did not come up with anything tangible, Mr Ross was having to feed him lines at the end of the show. Billy came up with a lot of information, most which can be found easily on the net. Never the less hes far better than Brian.

OK Ive had me winging session now, so back to the nights events. I was very happy to see the inclusion of more scientific experiments which Keriann took the helm off. The PK experiment was very interesting and we shall see how this evolves over the next 6 nights. I did like his explanation of the power of suggestion too, nice one. We will know doubt find out the results of the pendulum experiment tonight.

All in all I thought a very quiet night, a few things being thrown but I am sure very disappointing to the crew. Will be interesting to see what happened after the show finished!!!!

NIGHT 2 -IN SEARCH OF APPARITIONS - The Empire Theatre, Liverpool

A most entertaining evening. From the off KO picked up something strange on the thermal imaging camera, and Billy at last was included in the whole evenings investigation.

The main point of the show was set in a reconstructed Victorian seance, on the main stage in the auditorium. A series of cameras were arranged in a semi circle in front of the table, KO would then take still photos sequentially on EF command. I was quit impressed with this set up, the only thing was that you never saw a distance shot off everyone in the stage ie from one of the remote cameras, so we had to take their word for it that there was know one else with them.
Audibles inthe form of whispers, whistles, sighs and actual words were heard. As KO commented, theatres are built to amplify sound from the stage area, so some of these sounds could have emanated naturally from the building.

The Snug Bar - again the audibles heard here was 'yes' the crew felt very uneasy.

Billy came up with the names Georgy Wood, William Fish (who murdered the young girl called Emily) he also came up Henry Walls who was also a murderer , so which one actually killed The little girl????? bit confusing. He said that Spirit have no voice box's so cant speak easily, EF commented 'well how Can they say the word YES then' good comment, he replied that 'they can' so very confusing there Billy. So can they, or are cant they speak and how and what with???.

Brian put in his usually hammed up performance (apologies I am a little biased here), suggesting that the crew are being stalked and that 'He will kill again' who??? Henry of course. So that planted a bit if the old fear factor in peoples minds.

Poor Kath was summonsed by EF to be strapped in the 'execution' chair (as i would like to call it). And didn't she do well.

Carl was the next victim in the chair and he commented on not being able to breath very well and passed out for a couple o minutes. He also felt as if there was something around his throat and as if something was being held over his face, temporally. Again this could all be psychosomatic due to the suggestions made through the evening.

Once very interesting thing that happened under the stage in the corridor is that all the lights came on...when Stuart said they had been shut off at the main control switch. SPOOKY.

Once funny incident that crops up frequently is when MS Fielding gets left on her own. This time it was Carl doing the dirty work. Carl and EF were in the balcony together she threw a wobbler when Carl walked off and lefter her for a few minutes. Well Ms Fielding 'if you can stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen' LOL.

I enjoyed the evenings events, it was good entertainment (as always) but its refreshing to see them taking an interest in techniques used in a certain time frame ie the Victorian seance, and the Tessler machine used at Denbigh. The audibles were very convincing but we never got a birds eye view of all those present so we have to trust that they are not setting these things up... which is hard to do.

NIGHT 3 -IN SEARCH OF LOST SOULS - Stanley Docks Warehouse, Liverpool

What a hilarious eve we had. The only 'devil' to be found was in master Beattie, the look on his poor forlorn wife when he announced that he had set up a secret experiment was just gold. I was rubbing my hands with anticipation to find out what this naughty boy had schemed up. Brian was placed firmly back into the medium seat and I shamelessly add failed yet again at coming up with anything worth listening too at all.

So last night they were in search of those poor bedevilled souls who are entrapped between this world and the next, not knowing they are dead, locked between 2 worlds. Were given the impression that there were dark entities slithering around in the dirt and Meir of the basement.

Interestingly this was the first vigil/location that KO had gone into cold.

Most of the vigil was centred in the basement of the old warehouse which had been used as a morgue in the 2nd WW (well I'm assuming it was the 2nd as they didn't tell us) and lots of body snatching, this shot up the warning signals, "mmm (I thought) what do they usually do when they are in a morgue!!!!"

Lots of hamming up from Brian and suggestion to fester the fear factor for Ms fielding (it never fails does it) especially when the seance spelled out 'KILL ME' well i near lost the will to live. THEN came Pièce de résistance when Carl announced his secret experiment. Well I was jumping for joy.

CARL'S BRILLIANT SENSORY DEPRIVATION EXPERIMENT:

He gave out numbered cards face down on the seance table, and asked the 'spirit' to choose one for each member. The last one left was for KO.

He then asked them all to follow him to the morgue area (o'er), where there was a coffin for each member (laid out in a circle). Each had a camera in the top and their corresponding number. Once they managed to get Ms fielding into the coffin, the lids were NAILED shut, yeeha how good was that. The Tessler generator was back and quickly swtitched on heighten the fear.

This was a great experiment spoilt yet again my Ms Fielding throwing her dummy down, everyone else got into the spirit (excuse the pun) of the experiment, but not Yvette. Shes very quick to dish the dirt out but does not like it when she has do it.

Stuarts lid was lifted up and down and you could hear knocks and scratches on the coffin lids. The only problem was we needed a wider angled view, someone could have easily been making the noises and those in the coffins could easily have misinterpreted them as coming from their coffins. In a situation like this your mind will play unmercifull tricks on you. I am interested in what KO thinks about this experiment tonight and would like to see it done again as a controlled experiment but with KO in charge.

The most horrible occurrence of the night was (in my opinion) Yvette spitefully asking the spirits to do things to Julian, you cold clearly hear it in her voice 'Go on, go on DO something to Julian', who was chosen (sorry) ordered, by Yvette to join them and go in the coffin..... may I add... ALONE (OK i don't mean IN the coffin alone). Give the man a gold star, I thought he did extremely well indeed. Especially when they did a seance on top of his coffin... nice one, I liked that.

NIGHT 4-IN SEARCH OF VOICES FROM THE DEAD-
Central Library, Liverpool

This was a very difficult location for the crew and team to investigate due to the ecoustics of the main dome area. We all know Ms Fielding loves the sound of her own voice but this was amplified by the echo reverb within the domb.

Lots of tapping and breaths accompanied by the whistling too.

An excellent Radio Frequency experiment re-created faithfully by KO with 3 telephone extensions and a reel to reel (now that takes me back) tape recorder. EF was tryinet to telephone the dead, unfortunately know knowone was home!!!!

When the team relocated to the stacks. Book titles were chosen for the spirit to push them off the shelves, which happend very quickly indeed, the first 2 were as requested, but the remaing 3 were random, so our spirt did not want to play ball.

Not much else happend that I thought would be of interest to any reader. Apparently things kick off back at St George's Hall (but I had fallen asleep by then) when apparently 'something' followed the team back Shapes, faces, disembodied figures were are reported by teh audience and crew. KO commented that statistically 1 out 10 people int the audience saw something... shame a I fell alseep the.

Most Haunted 'LIVE', Village of the Damned

Hurray
(she cries swinging form the chandeliers) I'm so glad MH had finally managed to get into the Asylum, and to do 7 nights 'live' well that's just fantastic. I am very passionate about the asylum and I've noticed there has been a bit of an uproar from residents and the council on MH approach to their investigations and experiments they are conducting. To some degree I have to agree them. Denbigh council chairman Colin Hughes said he was “absolutely fuming many people had raised their concerns, particularly about the town being labelled the Village of the Damned. I am disgusted that this production company have waltzed into Denbigh and seemingly poked fun at mental illness,” he said.

I do not feel that there has been any FUN poked or prodded otherwise at mental illness in the show but I do think they could have titled this MHL at little more sensitively, as when I first read it's title I did not instantly think of the asylum. My only criticism is that I feel they are going about contacting the spirits in the wrong way. I'm not a big fan of mediums but Billy, the visiting medium came up with one 'message' in that the spirits themselves are genuinely upset about how the site had been allowed to degenerate. I thought that was fantastic, people who buy properties and estates like the asylum and leave it to dissolve over time should be penalised and held responsible maybe fined for allowing our heritage to decay. Its nothing Short of 'cruelty' albeit to an inanimate object, if that's possible.

Sorry Ive drifted a bit there... back to MH. The times I have been to the site I have NEVER felt anything sinister there, I've never felt frightened, and let's face it its a pretty imposing structure. I think the MH crew should soften there approach in order to get activity from there spiritual residents. Summing up the devil was pretty silly idea and was done for sensationalism, and didn't work. The Tesla Static machine was a good idea, but again did not achieve the desired results, to be honest I thought it had a more of a 'Dr Frankenstein' effect.

The most important point the council are missing is that at last, the Asylum is getting some well deserved promotion (and finally some well deserved TLC too) and hope that now something may be done productively with the site. People are just sitting on there bottoms watching a fantastic opportunity to regenerate the area disappear. I think it would be a terrible shame to loose such a fine example of Gothic architecture. Yes there has been some unfortunate experiences people have undergone in the asylum, but that was the treatment and science of it's day, it is NOT the building at fault.

As for MH its a TV programme and for entertainment only, people keep forgetting that.

Lastly I wish all involved in tonight show (including the audience) good luck they are gonna need it as the weather forecast is for it to be -3 brrrrrr.

PS An interesting thing popped up on the first night about the energy levels on the site... every time I have been, I took my camcorder..... it broke on each occasion....spooky.

PPS - Someone aught to tell Yevette that there are impsy wimpsy's the size of elephants on the site.... he he that would make her screeeeeeeeam.

NIGHT 4 ISOLATION

Well done Mr Ross. Bit of a flook didn't you think that he just happened to be picked out to do a lone vigil..... 'IN THE MORGUE', if it was a set up it was a gooden. Great TV though, and I thought Stuart gets claustrophobia? Yet he still manged a cosy get together with Carl in the freezer. Best night yet I thought. It is a very small 'cadaver' freezer (yes Ive been there myself) which I was surprised considering the size of the estate and the amount of people they must have had living there. I did think the window smashing and Carl's mortuary tray sliding was very suspicious (little miss skeptic). But gold star for Paul, when people are put into their very first vigil setting they tend to be very hypersensitive to every bump, knock, breeze, smell any external source which Paul demonstrated with a few slips of 'french'. I still feel the star medium on this MHL is Billy Roberts, very convincing, I wish they had given him a much bigger spot in the show as I am not impressed with Brian's abilities, it's usually a very good dramatic performance he delivers. Come back Derek all is forgiven LOL.

I am very interested weather they get into the Chapel, that is one of the areas I never managed to get into although you could see once again that it had been stripped of its beauty, only the ceiling was/is left in tacked probably because they could not get up that high.

Oh and a HUGE thank you to Carl, who at the beginning of the programme stood up and challenged the Council for their participation in the decline of the building.... FANTASTIC.

Looking forward to tonights gripping episode...go for it guys.

NIGHT 5 VOODOO DECEPTION

I was looking forward to tonight's episode. The team located in the North West wing of the asylum, an area I had not been in (and neither had the vandals by the look of it). The room they first visited were very intriguing, small, with high ceilings and narrow high windows. I wonder what they have been used for? Obviously who ever was interred in these rooms was not intended to escape. The rooms would would have been quite dark too.

Again our visiting medium Billy Roberts unearthed yet more fascinating information. I liked Billy's honest too concerning mediums and their abilities, it was refreshing to hear him be critical on the reliability of information channeled buy mediums.

Now to the nights events, VOODOO. Interesting experiment, but unfortunately we can't guarantee that it was not a set-up. I did chuckle though at the Voodoo doll of Brian, a mini Wicca man. They stuck pins in the dolls arms and legs, but only the leg area seemed to have the desired effect. Either Brian has the ability of telepathy or something was afoot as he started to complain about his leg BEFORE they started their experiment.

I did enjoy the very last part of the their vigil, where they all positioned themselves in separate rooms, and lots of activity seem to happen.

The other thing that amazes me is that, of the thousands of people that must have gone through the asylums doors, weather they be staff or patients, we are only getting the supposed 'witches' flying around the place and causing havoc.

I really do think they should get Billy more involved in the vigils, it would be far more interesting. Oh, and Mr Ross could you PLEEEEEEASE stop mentioning the 'D' word.....(demolition) its causing me a lot distress.

Finally, a big thank you to Carl once again for his comments regarding the asylums future.

When ever I have taken my team members to the Asylum who have never been there before they come away from it, SPELLBOUND, it real does seem to bewitch you (I am not referring to any witchcraft references here). I defy anyone who has been on these MHL night this week will not be able to go away and forget about the Asylum. I think that it is at a point now if something isn't done NOW it will be lost forever.

PLEASE, SOMEONE, DO SOMETHING.

NIGHT 6 BURIED

Mmmmmm Brian, not a very convincing medium at all, and I don't think he's doing the show much justice. Thumbs up for Carl yet again having a HUGE dig at the CC. Now back to last night vigil, I loved the 'chair' experiment, especially when EF was strapped, clamped and roaped into it. Unfortunately it lasted all of 2 secs, but good old hubby Carl was there to give her cuddle...'there, there, now'. I don't understand? EF has been ghost hunting for over 8 years now (I think), and she's still frightned to be on her own, yet she quickly gets a strop on and summoned her husband to the chair without a blink of and eye and orderd the member of the audience to go off down the corridor on her own. I would LOVE to have a head to head GHOUL DUEL with her.

I did not think any conclusive showed up last night except the whitches of Denbigh AGAIN. They should ask them to stand back and let other spirits get a look-in.

Billy came up trumps again explaining how he thought a oujia board works (especially when Brians pushing the glass), a very good philosophy I thought.
I am sorry to keep being negative about some of the things MH area doing because I am very gratefull for them concentrating this MHL at the Asylum, but a lot of what they are doing could be very easily rigged, and as an investgator myself I have to look at things from a skeptical viewpoint.

Be rest assured I shall be dusting off my old and trusty broomstick tonight, and fly back to Denbigh . . . Oh Sxxt, they have found me out at last, my real name isn't Kathy at all, is ALICE he he he he. But do not worry, I shall make sure I wrap up warm and put my winter tights on, Broomflight and chilblains make a nasty combination.

NIGHT 7 THE BURNING

Burn, baby burn....well what a great night for the grand Halloween finale, and they pulled it off, great telly. I enjoyed the lone vigils (thats if they were REALY alone!), Carl made a constructive remark on how his imagination had staretd to take control of the situation he was in. And finally Billy got a look-in at last (I wonder why they left it until the last night to move him in?). I was excited to find that the last location was infact the chapel, as you could see the roof was in-tact, and how magnificient it must have looked in its original state. Poor Keiran had not been well all week, and you did notice him holding his head whilst in the chapel which turned out to be a stever headache, but I am glad he kept is skeptical glad rags on in the situatuion. A very interesting situation happend in the little cubbyhole outside of the building, murmurs and polt activity. I thought it would have been good to carry on up to 1am ... past the time when our two worlds/dimensions come closer together.

I know I've critisised the team a little on our 7 day voyage of paranormal discovery, but I still watched avidly for the whole 7 nights (I am a little biased, it was after all my fave place). All said and done I did feel extremely sad when it finished, I think this is because I know in my heart the Asylum will have no repreave from demolition.

And finally, this is a message to all of you that have watched the show and visitied our blog (by the way a big thank you). Just thank MH for bringing this wonderfull place into all of your lives. REMEMBER, you have had the opportunity, and the privalage to see it, cherish this, as you will NEVER see it again.

GOODBYE, DENBIGH ASYLUM
